The Role
As Product Manager Hardware Integrations at SkeyDrone, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and success of our drone detection product offering. You will be responsible for driving the detection hardware vision, strategy, and integration execution to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth. This role requires a blend of business, technical and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively.
Hardware integrations include drone detection (RF, radar, acoustic, camera, …) and effector (soft & hard kill) hardware (mostly through API’s), as well as the evolution of our own home-grown SkeyBox, used for connectivity & monitoring. Partnership management, benchmarks and testing will be an important part of the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development: manage the entire product development lifecycle (with main focus on integrations/API), from ideation to release. Ensure product development stays on schedule and within budget.
- Market Research: conduct in-depth market and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer pain points, and potential product enhancements. Use this research to make data-driven decisions.
- Product Planning: create detailed product plans, including defining feature sets, specifications, and user stories. Collaborate with engineering and other team members to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
- Product Strategy: develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and customer needs. Identify market opportunities and define the product roadmap accordingly.
- User-Centered Design: champion a user-centric approach to product development by working closely with the design responsible to create intuitive and rewarding user experiences.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and other teams (incl. partner companies) to ensure product development is aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
- KPIs and Metrics: define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of the product and make data-driven adjustments as necessary.
- Customer Feedback: gather and analyze customer feedback, and use it to iterate on the product, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Product Launch: plan and execute successful product launches, including marketing strategies and sales enablement.
- Product Pricing & Profitability: keep a clear view on the cost structure and profitability of our products and co-define their price setting.
- Pre-sales Support: support marketing and sales teams with demos or technical questions, participate in prospect or customer meetings.
- Risk Management: identify potential risks and challenges and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Your Profile
- At least a bachelor degree in business, engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (min 5y) as a Product Manager / Agile Product Owner, with a successful track record of bringing products to market.
- A natural interest in hardware components, electrical schemas and custom build cabinets (you’ll dive in the inner working of e.g. radar systems).
- Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (EN + NL/FR).
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Structured and attentive for correct documentation.
- Affinity for working in a complex, regulated environment – willing to thoroughly master the EU drone (and part of the aviation) regulation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead with influence.
